Pam Selkirk’s journey as a quilt and fabric designer has been woven together through a lifelong love of making. As a child, she learned to crochet by watching her grandmother - the only other lefty she knew - effortlessly create granny squares at lightning speed. Her fascination with fiber arts deepened in her teenage years when she began piecing fabric on her grandmother’s vintage Singer 99k. Though she had no clear purpose for her early projects, the process of creating became an irresistible pull.

In the early 1990s, as a young mom, Pam discovered quilting. She was particularly drawn to scrappy quilts, always seeking ways to balance spontaneity with structure. To her, the magic of quilting lay in finding harmony between creative whimsy and chaos—a delicate balance she continues to embrace.

By 2008, Pam had transformed her passion into a business, launching Serendipity Woods on Etsy. There, she sold handmade quilts, totes, sensory fidgets for children, and cherished plush animals crafted from her children’s outgrown clothing. Each of these animal friends had a name and a story, lovingly written by Pam, which accompanied them as they journeyed to their new homes.

In 2014, inspired by her husband’s vision for a new chapter, the two expanded into the quilt fabric market with Serendipity Woods: The Quilt Shop. It quickly became a haven for curated scrappy bundles—affectionately named Pleasant Palettes for Pretty Patchwork. As her expertise deepened, Pam began designing quilt patterns to help others embrace the joy of scrappy quilting in a more intentional, frustration-free way.

Today, Pam continues to weave storytelling and craftsmanship into every fabric collection she creates, reflecting on her own creative journey with each design. Her work embodies a deep appreciation for color, texture, and the timeless art of patchwork, inspiring quilters to craft with confidence and creativity.
